As a battling essayist, he considers the to be as a chance to chip away at his writing in a quiet, peaceful setting. The otherworldly powers of the house and the impacts of disconnection start to use their control over Jack and transform him into a crazed lethal neurotic. His drop into franticness at last leads him trying to execute his better half and child. The title of the film is gotten from Danny?s capacity to see into the future and speak with the powerful. This ?sparkling? fills in as a conductor through... ...ycle through the passages of the lodging. The camera ?rides? directly behind Danny, giving us everything that he sees on his visit. Once more, the moving camera is utilized to build up an extraordinary point of view. We get the inclination that Danny is driving us into another startling experience with the hotel?s inhabitant spirits. In any case, as we tail him on this ride, nothing occurs. Each corner he turns fills in as an open door for a stunning picture or a snappy alarm, yet Kubrick never gives us the normal result. Truth be told, Danny finishes a round trip and winds up right where he started, free from any danger. This is one of numerous models in which the film investigates its relationship with the crowd and uses its conscious pace to augment its latent capacity.      Overall, Stanley Kubrick?s The Shining is both delightful and threatening. In single direction or another, Kubrick figures out how to resist the entirety of the shows of the repulsiveness kind to convey a special and chilling movie experience. Through the splendid utilization of his camera and the determined gathering of tension, he makes a film that is extremely mindful of its relationship to its crowd and delights in its chance to investigate the capability of that relationship. The revenue of Midland Realty is mainly base on the transaction of real estate. Service which provides by Midland Realty is the main factor. So, it is crucial to examine critically the impact of on Midland Realtys Real Estate Business After The Extension of Kowloon Southern Link to Hunghom in 2009. The aim of the research is to find out that the impacts on Midland Realtys real estate business after the extension of Kowloon Southern Link to Hunghom. How Midland Realty can make use of this opportunity to increase the sale. This study will base on the following objectives to examine the result. The first objective is to examine the awareness and attitudes of potential buyers towards the demand of real estate along Kwoloon Southern Link stations. This is a very important factor which would affect the result of this research. The second objective is to investigate Midland Realty has spend enough resources on real estate business. Any internal factors will related or effect to the sale of Midland Realty? Also, this paper base on questionnaire with face to face interview or telephone and around 100 potential buyers or buyers of the real estate along the Kowloon Southern Link station will be asked, in order to investigate the impacts on Midland Realtys real estate business after the extension of Kowloon Southern Link to Hunghom in 2009. In the project, it would show the value of real estate among the West Rail Line and the buying behavior of the potential buyers. Also, I would like to use the information to show how Midland Realty capitalizes on the extension of the West Rail Line. Moreover, I would like to conduct a survey on the potential buyers. Then make use of the data and relevant information to analysis and find out the strategy on West Rail Line is successful or not. iii. Aim This works aims to provide suggestions and evidences of how Midland Realty capitalizes on the extension of West Rail Line to Hunghom in 2009. And how can attract more potential buyers to buy real estates through Midland Realty in order to increase the sales and profits. 2. Background Midland Holdings was founded in 1973 by Chairman Wong Kin-yip. For the past few years, it has dedicated itself to providing real estate broking service for all property sectors à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â‚¬Å" from residential to commercial and industrial. On June 8, 1995, Midland Holdings became the first and the largest real estate agency to go public in Hong Kong. Moreover, Midland Holdings acquired Hong Kong Property Services (Agency) Limited to expand its market share. After years of growth and expansion, Midland Holdings now has more than 300 branches, employing over 5,000 persons. Its standing in the market is solid, to say the least. They have been operating for years on one guiding principle : Customers come firstà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬?. They work like as : à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Think customers; be responsive; take initiative; be innovative; work as a team and scale new heights.à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬? Employees are guided to offer 3Ps service à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â‚¬Å" Prompt, Precise and Professional, to customers. Fu rthermore, Midland Realty is one of the Midland subsidiaries of Midland Holdings which is one of the Hong Kong real estate agency too. Its services including real estate transactions, real estate news, promotion of the new real estate, the property market analysis, maps online searching and transaction records. Midland Realty is very successful on anticipateing market trends which it had over 30 years of experience on real estate business. For example, it is succesfully catch up the opportunity on SARS effects in 2003. It made use of the chance on downturn on real estate maket and started preparing and planning strategies, waiting for the market boom up. As a result, it showed that Midland Holdings is able to be a lead of real estate agency. It had breakig a great number of records on that year. In 2009, the real estate market is keep growing. The value of real estate is increased very rapid. Especially the urban areas which with good established transportation. For example, K owloon Tong, Mong Kok, Tsang Kwan Oetc. These facts can proved that the real estate with good established transportation would help to increase the land vule of the rea estate. In theriodically, the value of real estate which along Kowloon Southern Link would be increse too. Good established transportation would attract people willing to move into the new town instead of the urban place. As they can have better living area with less transport time. Therefor, the demand on the real estate along the Kowloon Southern Link would be increse. Why well developed transportation would help the areas development? Although Hong Kong is a small place, people still spend lot of time on traveling due to inconvenience transportation services in coutryside à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â‚¬Å" Yuen Long or Tuen Mun. In the past, people need to take around 44 minutes from Yuen Long to East Tsim Sha Tsui and take around 55 miniutes from Tuen Mun to East Tsim Sha Tsui. At now, it just take about 30 minutes to the hea rt of Kowloon with travel direct all the way on the West Rail Line to Jordan, Tsim Sha Tsui and Hunghom without an interchange taking a feeder service which provided by MTR. 3. Objectives and research questions This study will base on the following objectives to examine the result. Aims to investigate the impacts on Midland Realty real estate business, the sale would increase or not. How to make use of opportunity to increase the sale. As the income of Midland realty is the commission, increase the transaction of real estate, would increase the sales. The opportunity is the extension of Kowloon Southern Link to Hunghom. It is would be affect the demand on real estate which along the Kowloon Southern Link. But it is a small fact only, service which provide by Midland Realty is the main important fact to increase the sale. This report is main to find the relationship on the sale and the service. The first objective is to examine the awareness and attitudes of potential buyers towards the demand of real estate along Kwoloon Southern Link stations. This is a very important factor which would affect the result of this research. As the demand of real estate will directly related to the value of the real estate. Therefore, it will be a cause and effect relationship between Midland Realty and Real Estate. The second objective is to investigate Midland Realty has spend enough resources on real estate business. For example, did it open enough branches along the Kowloon Southern Link stations or not, hire enough agents to satisfy the effect on the sale, it can provide good services and quantity to their customers. These are the important factors which would affect the sale of Midland Realty. Below are the main points of the objectives questions of this research: Examine the potential buyers personal information (Age, Income, Education level, etc) Examine the potential buyers have used Midland service or not? Examine the awareness and attitudes of potential buyers towards the demand of real estate along the West Rail Line stations Examine the channel of potential buyers in buying real estate (Centaline Property Agency Limited? Midland Realty? Ricacorp Properties? CENTURY 21 Hong Kong Limited? Other else?) Examine the reasons why they buy real estate through that company? Examine the relationships between factors (Efficiency, Agents experience and knowledge, Expression skills, Property information and explanation, Product Knowledge, Customer Care, Pre-sale Service, After sale Service, etc) and the attitude of potential buyers towards Midland Realty. Examine the potential buyers will use Midland Realty service again in the near future? (Please specify) Any suggestion 4. Critical literature review A critical review of this research, using The Impact of Rail Transport on Real Estate Prices: An Empirical Analysis of the Dutch Housing Market, The real-estate and transportation complex, Property Values and Transportation Facilities: Finding the Transportation-Land Use Connection, Effects of Transportation Infrastructure and Location on Residential Real Estate Values: Application of Spatial Autoregressive Techniques, Empirical Study on the Impact of Urban Rail Transit on House Price Based on Hedonic Price Model, conducted a study on the impacts on the value of real estate along the Kowloon Southern Link Stations. This research aimed to provide further evidence on the relationship between transportation and real estate. These papers are very similar to this research objective. As they are already proved that the value of real estate and well development transportation has deeply relationship. New transportation would help the development on the areas. Proximity to transportation infrastructure (highways and public transit) influences residential real estate values. It proves that they have relationship. The real estate which is very near to the transportation facilities would increase its value and people would trend to increase the demand on it. A hedonic pricing model is estimated to analyze the impact of railways on house prices in terms of distance to railway station, frequency of railway services and distance to the railway line. (An Empirical Analysis, 2006) For a wide range of house value if it is very close to a transportation station are on average about 25% more expensive than at a distance of 15 kilometers or more. It leads to a nice increase of house values of about 2.5%, ranging from 3.5% for houses closed to the station to 1.3% for houses far away. The negative effect of distance to railways, probably due to noise effects. It may have small effect on the demand of the real estate along the Kowloon Southern Link. Because Hong Kong is a small pl ace, everywhere are very valuable. Hong Kong would not considered that is a big problem and ignore it as well. Land rent is the reciprocal of transportation cost, and land rent can be viewed as capitalized transportation costs. (The real-estate) Use travel distance as a measure of access to transportation facilities, results tend to show mixed property value effects. (Finding) House price increases most rapidly in years of starting to build and operate, and decreased slightly in the mid-term of building, (Based on Hedonic Price Model Theses are the important factors. Two railway station references were used in the analysis: the nearest and most frequently chosen station in the post code area. This distinction indicates that railway station accessibility is a more complex concept than one might think. It involves competition between railway stations. (An Empirical Analysis, 2006) It would increase the price of real estate. A new interpretation of the transportation facility-property value literature that improves our ability to measure this relationship and to anticipate land-market responses to transportation facilities. (Finding) However the results provided less clear relationships between transportation and real estate. To the extent that this research is exploratory, results of this study provide insights into the importance of recognizing the value of real estate would be affected by transportation. However several limitations must be considered in interpreting the study findings. In summary, it has to be admitted that the current study is still far from being conclusive. Further studies must be undertaken, better measures must be developed, and larger samples must be used to improve our understanding concerning the exact relationship between transportation and real estate. Despite some deficiencies in methodology, to the extent that this research is exploratory i.e. trying to investigate an emerging issue, the study has provided some insights to accou nt for the difference of real estate between different West Rail Line stations. 5. Research Methodology This research aims to find out how Midland Realty capitalize on the extension This works aims to provide suggestions and evidences of how Midland Realty capitalize on the extension of West Rail Line to Hunghom in 2009 and how can attract more potential buyers to buy real estates through Midland Realty, in order to increase its sales and profits. So, the target population is the potential buyers. This study will use communication approaches to collect data, such as self-administered survey, telephone survey and survey via personal interview. This study will mainly focus on personal interview because it is face-to-face interview. It can get inter-action with the interviewees and it includes interviewer-controlled environment and participant-controlled environment. These are used by prescheduled and intercept. Also, it would use phone interview because through the voice, it can get message from interviewees immediately. It will use Human-administered, CATI and computer-administered. M oreover, it would not use self-administered surveying such as using mail, intercept, computer and central location due to low response rates and no interviewer intervention. Although it is the lowest-cost method, the survey still cannot be too long and too complex. Therefore, it would use phone interview and personal interview to collect data due to insufficient fund. Sampling method will use approach of judgment sampling because it selects sample members to conform to certain criteria. For example, this studies the real estate business, so it interviews those potential buyers of real estate. The sample size would be 100 150 due to insufficient fund. 6. Practical Strategies To End Procrastination - Free Essay Example

In Part 1 of this series, we shared insight into the causes of procrastination. We discovered how procrastination often disguises itself in an alternative activity. We observed how habitual procrastination could result in chronic stress. Lastly, we focused on Three Essential Tips to program your mind to override the tendency to procrastinate. If you missed this valuable part of the series, you can check it out here. In todayrs post, we are going to share 6 Practical Strategies that boost your motivation . . . To start your tasks as soon as possible, To accomplish your tasks on time or even earlier, To tackle your tasks with maximum effort and energy! Practical Strategies to Permanently End Procrastination Practical Strategy #1: Time Yourself Timing your tasks has become an extremely popular strategy for overriding procrastination. Itrs easy to apply and it really gets you pumped to accomplish your task. Herers how it works: You need a timer. The timer is your new boss. The timer rules no exceptions. First, you set the timer for one task, ideally 20-30 minutes .You work continuously on the one task without any diversion whatsoever. When the time rings, you re-set it for 5 10 minutes. During this time, you take a break. Step away from your desk. Do something completely different: eat a snack, play music, look out the window, exercise, watch TV. Just make sure whatever you do is not work-related. When the timer rings again, re-set it for another 25 minutes. Immerse yourself in the single-task focus for the set time. Then re-set the timer for another 5 10 minute non-work related break activity. This is known as the Pomodoro technique, named after the originator. Each set of work and break times is known as one Pomodoro. Aim for four Pomodoros and you will see your tasks completed. If you finish the task before the set time, then begin the next one until the timer rings. On the other hand, if 30 minutes seems too short, then stretch it out. The magic is the timer. Its outside influence is very strong and energizing much more so than just thinking about the time in your mind. The single-minded focus on the task relieved by short breaks forces you to get the job done while the breaks prevent fatigue. Have fun with this one! Practical Strategy #2: Reward Yourself Nothing motivates people more than a reward at the end of a long and tedious task. You dont have to indulge in expensive gifts. Treat yourself to a movie, a walk in fresh air, or a special snack. Stick to simple, pleasurable activities your due compensation for not procrastinating. Soon youll discover your type of rewards that motivate you on even the most challenging tasks. Practical Strategy #3: Set Punishments Now for the flipside, perhaps a little draconian . . . If you reward yourself when you do not procrastinate, then should you punish yourself when you do procrastinate? Self-imposed discipline will keep you on track with good work habits and lower stress levels. Here are some types of self-imposed discipline: Avoid watching TV the whole day Avoid Facebook for 24 hours Anonymously send a lot of money to someone whom you dislike with all your might Obviously, these punishments are meant to keep you on track so you take your work seriously. Focus on what needs to be done at all times and I guarantee you will never have to face your own punishments. Practical Strategy #4: Involve Other People Dont try to accomplish this all by yourself. Countering the habit of procrastination is a battle with the mind. Invite someone to monitor your actions a close friend, co-worker, or relative, as suits the situation. You are accountable to that person. If you dont meet your deadline, they should admonish you! IMAGE Let that happen and be sure to take it seriously. they are your support network. Beating procrastination can be difficult without the help of family and close friends. So, dont take your support network for granted! Maybe you can do the same for them at some time. Practical Strategy #5: Change Your Beliefs and Values About Time Time is like cash; when you spend it frivolously or haphazardly, itrs gone forever. And it always disappears too soon! You can never recover those hours you wasted on unimportant activities. What you can do: Start changing your beliefs and values about time. Your time is a scarce and essential resource. View it that way. Respect and honor it. Spend it wisely. Are you spending a lot of time on unimportant, time-consuming activities? If so, you must make the conscious choice either to limit or even avoid those activities altogether. Get in the habit of asking yourself, Is this the best use of my time at this moment? Do it now so you dont commit the same mistakes in the future. We already know what happens when a person runs out of time to complete all the things that he needs to do anger, frustration, regret. So, exercise the foresight to avoid this unnecessary stress. Practical Strategy #6: Assert Your Right To Use Time Wisely Some people feel pressured or obligated to acquiesce to any and all invitations from friends, family and coworkers. Sure, itrs healthy to socialize. But not when it impinges on your schedule. You make this determination. Remember: Time rules. And it doesnt wait. You have to learn how to say no to unimportant invitations. You know best when you need your time for more important tasks and obligations. If your associations are accustomed to passive compliance with visiting, you can expect them to react with questions and even negative attitude. So, just be sure to explain the reason youre declining some activities that you used to attend regularly. People who truly know and care about you will immediately understand what youre trying to do. As for the rest If they fail to appreciate your self-help efforts, do they really deserve any your time?

Animals in research (Book Review Sample) Content: Topic: To what extent is the use of animals in scientific research acceptable?Name:Course:Instructorà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬s Name:Date:The use of animals in scientific biomedical research has raised controversial debates over the years. Animal rights extremist and anti- vivisectionist groups believe that animal experimentation is cruel and unnecessary, and they want immediate abolition on animal research regardless its benefits. It is to make sure that medicines being discovered are safe for human consumption. For examples, the vaccine for smallpox was developed by use of cows. Animals have rights too and based on the rights it still does not make it right and acceptable to use them in research experiments. (Jesy 2013)Scientific research being a very import aspect in the world and has helped humans in tackling many life threatening aspects. It makes it almost impossible not to use animals in the experiments in the medicine world. In the case of new viruses mice are usually used by researchers to test and come up with medicine that later is used to save lives of those who suffer from that virus. In other situations where scientist are forced to work in unfavorable areas to humans, animal are used as pioneers to save human lives so as to continue with their discovery. (Simon Robin)Using of animals in experiments hurts animal physically, and we cannot ignore other peopleà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬s opinions against death of animals, but it is clear that it has to be done for humankind. Regulations to govern the rights of animals should be created minimize their use in bias experiment result that have no significant benefit to mankind. Leadership Roles And Lead Teams During My Internship With...

This past summer, I was able to take leadership roles and lead teams during my internship with Community Empowerment Solutions in Ecuador. It was during this experience where I began to see my leadership skills unfold. One big critique of my leadership is that I can be mean. It was times when my teammates weren’t working hard enough or not moving where I wanted to be that I didn’t know how to communicate these problems in an efficient manner in order to get my point across. This caused tension and bad chemistry in our group. In retrospect, I see that I was moving too fast and not pausing to observe what was happening around me. I wasn’t a critic of myself and I didn’t take time to assess my group or new ideas that they brought forward. I now see that when getting to an end point in a project, one must always assess the environment and direction that the group is heading—pivoting and retracting when it’s called for and efficiently communicatin g with teammates. One aspect of my leadership that I think is a strength is being able to get rolling on a project. Facilitating ideas and coming together to map out the direction of a project is something I excel at. I can assign roles that fit people’s skills and give them instruction on where they need to go. While I mentioned that, I need to evaluate situations closer, I have the ability to move a team forward. During the summer, I was always able to organize the team and get us started on our projects. Modernism And Modernization In Shirley Jacksons The Lottery

Modernizing for most people means replacing old traditions with new practices fit for the current issues. For some, this is progression, and without this, civilization would be stuck in a primitive society, or as some would say, living inside of a cave (Jackson par. 33). This is what Shirley Jackson tries to encompass in her story, â€Å"The Lottery†. Practices were created out of a necessary during their time, but lived on as traditions that is more destructive than beneficial, and this is seen with various symbols in the â€Å"The Lottery†. The tradition in â€Å"The Lottery† calls for a yearly lottery where the household draws until a single individual of the family draws the losing paper, and it is that individual that is stoned to death, as seen†¦show more content†¦At this point, most readers saw their play with the stones as childhood innocence, of giving insignificant objects importance. Then the stones were used to stone someone to death. This can be seen as situational irony, as readers were unaware and assumed. A stoning is a community involvement where everyone shares the burden of the death, unlike an execution where the executioner or those in charge are to blame. Some of the lottery rituals were allowed to lapse as long as long as the core theme was kept the same. Mr. Summers, the official in the story, tried every year to change the ritual, such as getting a new box, but he was able to substitute the chips of wood for slips of paper (par. 6). Also, there used to be a† ritual salute, w hich the official of the lottery had had to use in addressing each person who came up to draw from the box† (par. 7). And there is confusion about what was used, as some believed that the official performed a tuneless chant, while others believed he stood at the front or â€Å"walk among the people† (par. 7). This shows that the villagers follow the tradition blindly, without necessarily understanding why it was created in the first place or the exactly how the ritual took place. Old Man Warner embodies the traditionalist view on life. He does not approve of the changes made, or how casual the community is to the tradition, and this is seen by his disapproving of â€Å"young Joe

For many American poverty is living paycheck to paycheck. In a lot of cases most of these people find themselves without income and are unable to support their self or their family. Poverty has not just recently come about, it has been around for many years. Those who are against poverty all agree that something needs to be done about it, but not many of Americans do anything about this continuing issue. Most people do not take action because their lack of information provided about the issues on poverty. The issues of poverty are not important enough for the American media to keep everyone informed on the issues relating to poverty. Dynamic change of Management

Question: Discuss about the Dynamic change of Management ? Answer : Introduction Dynamic changes are a characteristic of the contemporary world and this has resulted in making effective as well as efficient organization a very critical aspect of the organizations. Besides this, each organization operates in an environment which is distinct to it and thus a style of leadership or organization which is considered as appropriate in certain instances that may not be appropriate or successful in other instances which may be different. Hence, it becomes vital to conduct an assessment on the manner in which this has an impact on their structure. Therefore, it cannot be said that there is only one best way to manage as the best way of managing an organization becomes contingent on both the external as well as the internal situation of the organization. Additionally, the leaders who are effective have awareness of the fact that there is only one best way to manage and thus they make adaptations in their style in accordance development levels of the people whom they are ma naging (Witt, 2009) (Fineman et al., 2005). Contingency Approach for Managing People The aspect which has been mentioned above, has placed emphasis on the contingency approach. According to this approach, in order for the organization to achieve success, it is critical for them to adopt a structure which is suitable to the environment wherein the organization operates. Several varied forms exist for the contingency theories. Generally, they are a component of that particular class of behavior theory in accordance to which no best was exists in which a corporation or its organization structure may be organized. External environment has an influence on the organization in various manners. The vital external factors affecting the organization consists of its size along with the labour markets, competitors, costs as well as capital availability, assumptions of the management pertaining to the usage of technology, strategies and also employees and laws and policies laid down by the Government (Smith, 1984). Most of the development of contingency theories happened in the second half of the 1960s decade. They emerged primarily due to the criticism that was meted out to the classical theories like Taylors scientific management and also to Webers Bureaucracy. These theories turned out to be unsuccessful as they did not consider the fact that contingency factors or the numerous environmental factors impact both the management style as well as the organizational structure. In 1958, the work of Joan Woodward laid the foundation of the contingency approach. As per him, the companies that had achieved success in various industries were the ones that had distinct types of technologies and such companies also possessed the characteristic of having distinct organizational structures (Thompson, 2003). Several strategic managers following the classical culture had a tendency of being inflexible. They lacked the qualities which are necessary for a manager to possess for successful management of change. On the contrary, certain other managers had the capacity of dealing with the changes in a methodical as well as rational manner. This turns out to be the most crucial positive aspect regarding the utilization of contingency thinking approach. It was observed that majority of the organizations that were able to become successful had hierarchies and structures in the organization which differed from what was being advocated by classical management theorists. Variations occur in the good structures and these are dependent on the situations that exist and thus there is no one best way of managing. The theme behind the different contingency theories primarily is that organizations can be considered as systems that are open and it is required that they are managed in a careful manner so that satisfaction and balance of the internal needs is made possible and it also becomes possible to adapt to circumstances existing the its environment. No one best way is thus possible for organizing. The suitable form above all other things is dependent on the kind of environment or task that has to be dealt with by one. Hence, the management has to show concern regarding attaining good alignments and varied environments require organizations which are also varied (Morgan, 2007). Certain basic sort of contingency comprises organisations production technology, its size and also that task environment which is a part of it. The thinking of contingency approaches is totally distinct from the thinking that the old management theorists possessed. The theorists belonging to the old school were under the assumption that they had made the discovery of one best way. However, leaders who possess the requisite experience have awareness of the fact that no one best way actually exists. Put alternatively, it can be said identical treatment should not be meted out to the employees in every circumstance, situation and condition. Hence, a major suggestion made by contingency thinking is that the number of ways in which managers can make adaptations is dependent on the situations which they face (Burnes, 1996). Contingency thinking has combined the ideas in relation to the existence of uncertainty in the environment as well as the external factors impacting the work with context specific features pertaining to both leadership and decision making. As indicated by the contingency thinking theory, functions, techniques and practices of management differ with situations. Thus, assistance is provided by it in finding ways that are appropriate for management of organisations. Certain organisations for instance, may be hiring management consultants in order to identify effective ways for handling currently existing circumstances, new markets, new laws and policies, new competitors and political issues. Managerial activities have impacted the organisational activities in a number of ways. These comprise of being able to motivate the subordinates, being a source of communication and budgeting the resources that are in scarcity. In accordance with the contingency theories, a leadership of single style does not turn out to be effective in all the situations and the style of leadership is in fact contingent on the context which is organisational and situational (Jordhiem, 2013). Influential Contingency Theories As per the influential contingency theories there exists no one best way to manage. They are as follows - Burns and Stalker in their findings revealed that high differences exist between organisations that operate in stable environments and the ones that operate in dynamic environments. They were of the view that the firms approach to innovation and also change varied and this was in relation to their values as well as mission (Burns Stalker, 1994), Lawrence and Lorsch further refined the contingency theory and suggested that varying technological environments and markets need organisations of varying types and different ways can be used for managing the organisations functional department because of the variations that take place in their sub-environments. Thus, the organisations that adapts to the environment in the best way possible will be able to survive (Lawrence Lorsch, 1967). Fred Fiedlers model is the most researched along with being one of the earliest. This model is also known by the name contingency model of leadership effectiveness (Fiedler, 1964). Fiedler views are that leaders are neither effective nor ineffective. He suggests that there are just leaders performing better in certain situations however, not in every situation. Any person can become a leader by careful selection of situations that are matching with the leadership style that is possessed by him or her. Improvements can be made in the leaders effectiveness by designing a job which is a fit with the manager. For example, by bringing an increase or decrease in the position power of the leader, altering the task structure or impacting the relations between leader and members, a situation can be altered by the organisation to fit better into the style of the leader (Lorsch, 2010). Conclusion It can be concluded that the essence that the contingency theory holds is that best practices are in fact dependent on the situations. That it all depends is a typical response that is provided by a contingency theorist. Hence, this theory is also called it all depends theory. This might apparently be simple but conducting an assessment in relation to the contingencies on which the decisions depend is a task which is extremely complex. Contingency theorists are the ones who mostly identify as well as measure the conditions in which there is a likelihood of the things taking place. Considering the fact that in order to be able to achieve performance which is of superior quality, the organisations should possess an external fit along with an internal fit and also taking into account that it is not possible to separate the processes of formulation of strategy and implementation of strategy, there is a need for adopting an approach which is integrative and which possesses the ability of incorporating the two schools of thought. Thus, it can be said that there is no one best way to manage and the organisational structure and management style which are the most appropriate are dependent on the organisational context of the concerned organisation. At present it is recognised that the ability of being able to manage the change is a core organisational competence. Referance Burnes, B., 1996.
